Amy Wegner Kho, Esq.
Amy Wegner Kho practices principally in the areas of estate planning, succession planning for family businesses, specifically with farms and ranches, and estate administration. In addition, her practice encompasses probate and elder law, including Conservatorships and Guardianship, and probate review of personal injury settlements. Prior to focusing on estate planning and elder law, Ms. Kho has practiced in the areas of real estate, local government law, and natural resource law.
Ms. Kho’s interest in estate planning is rooted from her childhood spent on her parents’ cattle ranch, where she saw many families ripped apart because no will or estate plan had been put in place. After witnessing the heartbreak of historic farms and ranches sold to intestacy battles or estate taxes, her goal is to help families create estate plans and succession plans for family farms, ranches and other businesses in order to respectfully ease the transfer of assets after death. Due to her connection with the agriculture community, Ms. Kho loves working with family businesses regarding business planning and charitable planning and facilitating the farm and ranch succession planning.
Ms. Kho is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, where she currently serves on the Elder Law Section Executive Council and the Agricultural Law Section Executive Council. Ms. Kho has taught CLE classes to other attorneys such as Succession Planning for Farms and Ranches: Making it a Success and Elder Law Basics. As education is a passion for Ms. Kho, she often presents in the community regarding topics such as Estate Planning 101; Critical Estate Planning; and several topics related to special needs planning.
